Help me to welcome the new elementary teachers to the Barneveld School District Team! Ben Lenerz I am Mr. Ben Lenerz, a University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh graduate and recently moved back to the Madison Area. Originally, I am from Sauk City and am very excited to be a part of the Barneveld community. As the Elementary Special Education Teacher, I will work with numerous students to provide differentiated instruction that will best meet the needs of the students. I am extremely motivated to be an advocate for all students and look forward to the start of the school year. Jamie Sage My name is Ms. Jamie Sage. I am the new Kindergarten teacher at Barneveld Elementary and am so grateful to be a part of this community! I grew up in Cross Plains, Wisconsin and recently moved back. I went to college at UW-La Crosse and worked there as a first grade and kindergarten teacher for six years. I enjoy yoga and mindfulness, the outdoors, and the arts! I am so happy to be back to my roots and settle into this new teaching position. I look forward to being a part of Barneveld and already feel so welcomed and at home! Thanks, I look forward to meeting you! Lindsey Bollig My name is Lindsey Bollig and I couldn’t be more excited to be the new 4th grade teacher in the Barneveld School District and member of the community! I grew up and graduated from Mt. Horeb where I played softball, basketball and volleyball. I attended Madison College for 2 years where I was also a member of the WolfPack softball team. I then went to UW-Platteville where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I wanted to become a teacher so I can have and make an impact on students’ lives and show them that they are capable of anything they put their minds to!

We encourage all our students and families to continue practicing social distancing and adhere to the guidelines provided by the CDC and other entities. Please stay safe and healthy!
Congratulations to Claire Brindley, Mikenzie Leahy, and Whitney Waterbury for being named Three-Year Gold recipients by the WHSFA. In between jobs in the community, Building Trades student's were paired up and asked to tackle an indoor hands-on activity. They were given a blueprint and were expected to layout 3 separate walls. Students then built the walls and brought them together to mock a section of a house. Plywood was placed on the walls and then wrapped in Tyvek. Each group had to calculate how much siding to order and then had the opportunity to install vinyl siding on their own "house". This is a great, real life project. Great opportunity for our students! #BeBarneveld

The third graders finished their first reading unit Building a Reading Life. We have learned may strategies that we can take with us throughout our Life. One very important lesson we learned in this unit is that if we read books like they are GOLD we enjoy reading much more. The third graders all found books that they really liked and learned important reading strategies. To celebrate the end of our unit we got our readers notebooks, wrote what we learned/like on fancy gold paper and also got "gold" treats to eat while we were reading and using everything we learned!
