Our 3rd - 8th-grade students enjoyed a visit from Minnesota author Erin Soderberg Downing on February 7th. Downing discussed writing, naughty pets, and her latest book, “Just Keep Walking”. In researching the book, Downing and her son spent two weeks hiking 100 miles of the Superior Hiking Trail in northern Minnesota. We have another opportunity to order her books from a local bookstore, Republic of Letters, and enjoy a small discount. Books will arrive in a few weeks and be signed by the author! Please view the link below for ordering information. #BarneveldReads

Starting Monday, February 12th - Try our NEW Phone Line for Voicemail Messages for Attendance! Add the Attendance Line to your cell phone contacts today! Why do we need a separate number? Our phone lines are very busy, and many calls are made to report absences. If a parent does not need to speak with the secretary or other school staff, the new message line is a great alternative. Plus, there is no additional cost to the school district! Call the number, listen to the message, and then leave a message with your child's name, grade, and reason for absence. You can also use this line to excuse your child for various reasons throughout the day, not just morning absences. An email with your voicemail is automatically forwarded to the school secretary throughout the day.
